Here are my learnings:
1) So clear. I use filtered water from our fridge. Freeze them for ~24 hours and then extract them. So clear.
2) Easy to use. Even with the ice around the handle, the material is flexible and easy to break the top ice.
3) Planning ahead for a gathering, you can make enough ice balls for the gathering, or get a second one.
4) A LOT of water is used to make these ice balls. The bottom of the mold is ~2" deep, below the actual ice ball mold. This results in a large block of ice, oval shaped, that needs to be removed. I've been saving these too, to use in my water bottle. Seems like a waste of water, if that oval block is just discarded.
This design could be required, to get the clearest balls, but seems like a lot of wasted water for two balls.
I would buy again, and may buy a second one.
These iceballs last a long time in the drink keeping it nicely chilled but not diluting it much over time.
To use I make sure the unit is clean. I fill with water to the line - no more no less (I simply use the chilled filtered water directly from the fridge-no boiling, etc.), slowly insert the mold - it will fill with water and overflow a little bit, then put carefully into a freezer spot where it won't get jostled while freezing.
Important. Do not empty or let spill any of the 'overflow' water atop the mold.
Let freeze for ~13 hours and remove from the freezer.
I run a little cold water from the sink faucet on the top to get the ice out from the top of the mold and after a few minutes I can pull out the mold.
If you do the freeze timing correctly, you can see a small bubble still in some unfrozen water in the bottom. The idea is to not freeze solid the water in the bottom below the mold.
There is science behind how this works, and it's based on water is most dense at 4 degrees C then as the water freezes into ice it becomes less dense, rises, and that's why ice floats! (and why we can be alive on this planet-but that's another science topic.)
After the mold is out for about a minute you can pull apart the halves and I put the ice balls into the fridge ice tray, then make another batch. It's almost addictive to keep making clear iceballs. I usually repeat several times.
See the pictures.

Long version:
I was skeptical how clear they would be. It was to my understanding the best way to make clear ice is to insulate the top so that it freezes from the bottom up squeezing the gasses out. This mold appears to leave the top more exposed so I was skeptical if the ice would actually be clear.
My wife pulled the mold this morning and sent me a picture, I was kind of underwhelmed, it didn't look all that clear. Turned out it was just some frost on the outside, once the cubes are wet, they really are clear.
There were some lines in the ice at the edge of the mold (where the holes are) but these cubes look great.
The only real negative to this mold is that once the unit is filled, the water is VERY close to the top and it's easy to spill it (not sure why the outer container isn't even 1/2" higher) but it doesn't matter, it makes clear, round ice and it's cheap.
Edit: Added a picture of my balls. So far we've made three batches:
The first one was absolutely perfect, wife doesn't remember exactly what she did
The second one the balls had crazy imperfections at the bottom, you could see where the freezing ice was forcing the gas out of the water. Really interestingly; when I rinsed the ball with cold water to see how clear it was, the ice at the bottom immediately crackled and cracked. Wifey still doesn't remember what she did for water (was it from the Brita, was it fresh through the Britta, was it in the fridge.
Third batch; after the disappointing second batch, I figured it was time for some scientific method. I used already chilled water from the britta that had been sitting/settling at least 24 hours. I soaked the molds in warm water (the idea is to make ice slowly, didn't want the cold mold to give it a head start). See the photo, these balls came out clear without only some minor lines at the bottom (again it looks like the gas is getting squeezed out the bottom and causing lines in the ice.
Bonus interesting: after removing the mold there's a bunch of ice at the bottom of the ice maker, when you fill the container with hot water, you can see the bubbles escaping from the ice as it melts.
