DIY Floral Headdress
Hello. Lily O’Lei here with another fun and easy DIY project. I recently went to an Aloha-themed wedding and decided to make a DIY Floral Headdress to go with my vintage 70’s muumuu.

Since I currently have a buzz cut and no hair to style, I thought a floral headdress would be a fun accessory. This DIY Floral Headdress was such a hit I decided to share how I made it.
Seriously, it is incredibly easy.
What you will need:
- Headband
- Fake / Silk Flowers
- Zip Ties
- Hot Glue
- Rhinestones (optional)
I decided to make a “casual” headdress and not a “full” headdress and only used two different flowers – roses & orchids.
I also decided to use a skinny headband since I wanted it to look like the flowers were pinned into my hair.
I started by using the zip ties to attach the orchid branch to the headband. I wanted the orchids to frame my face and drape down the side.

I then hot glued the roses on top to hide the zip ties and fill in the gaps.

Then I added some of the rose leaves to the side and stuck a few throughout the headpiece to add dimension and balance.

Add in a few rhinestones for extra sparkle and VOILA! All done!

This is such an easy way to add a bit of fun and glamour to any look, be it a muumuu or an evening gown.

Have fun, be creative, and don’t worry about it being perfect. You can always cover a mistake with a flower and a little glue.

XOXO – Lily O’Lei
